The school raised the prospect of transforming the school libraries with the PTA earlier this year; with the PTA funding some or all of this project. Mr Thomas has been working hard with outside companies, drawing up plans and getting quotes to refurbish the junior and infant libraries. Attendees of the PTA December meeting voted unanimously to support the project in full by committing £20,000 to meet the costs. The PTA believes by making a fun, comfortable and inviting reading area, it might encourage more of our children to pick up and book and enjoy the pleasures it will bring.
Back in the 1980′s, The PTA commissioned the Warren Road swimming pool. Since this time thousands of Children have used the pool, both for fun and learning. The PTA continue to maintain this pool for all Children of all ages to enjoy.
Each week, every one of our KS2 children receives a swimming lesson from our qualified swimming teachers. The children learn all strokes including, freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. This helps them become competent swimmers by the time they leave Warren Road.
The swimming pool is also hired out to local companies, with the revenue going directly back into school funds.
