Warren Road Primary PTA Projects
Playground Equipment and Playground Project
In May 2021 the PTA approved the funding of new wooden play equipment in the main and infant playground to replace some of the previous equipment. This has proved very popular with the children.
In 2023/24, the PTA committed to fundraising for the Playground Project. It was agreed that all profits from the events and sales would be dedicated to this. The PTA were involved with planning the layout of areas, as we all the design of a new outdoor shelter which is located outside the PTA Uniform Shed. This area now serves as an outdoor learning space, as well as provide shelter for the children during warm and wet seasons, whilst also providing a covered area for PTA sales of lollies or uniform along with a great base for the BBQ & Bar at the Fireworks and other events.
Staff Room Renovation
The staffroom underwent a much-needed revamp in the 2022/23 school year. Previously, the space did not function effectively as both a working and relaxing environment.
The newly redesigned staffroom now features clearly defined zones: a dedicated workspace equipped with desks, and a separate area designed for relaxation and socialising. This improvement has created a more functional and supportive environment for staff well-being and productivity.
The Swimming Pool
Back in the 1980′s, The PTA commissioned the Warren Road swimming pool. Since this time thousands of Children have used the pool, both for fun and learning. The PTA continue to maintain this pool for all Children of all ages to enjoy.
Each week, every one of our KS2 children receives a swimming lesson from our qualified swimming teachers.
The children learn all strokes including, freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. This helps them become competent swimmers by the time they leave Warren Road.
The swimming pool is also hired out to local companies, with the revenue going directly back into school funds.
Art/Therapy Room Renovation
In 2022/23, the Art/Therapy Room underwent a renovation, including the addition of new furniture and a broad selection of art materials and equipment. The space has been thoughtfully designed to support children's creativity, emotional expression, and wellbeing. It is now a welcoming and flexible environment where pupils can take part in a wide range of art, craft, and therapeutic activities, either individually or in small groups, as part of their broader learning and development.
Library Transformation Project
The school raised the prospect of transforming the school libraries, and plans were developed to refurbish both the junior and infant library spaces. The PTA unanimously voted to support the project in full, committing £20,000 to cover the associated costs.
The PTA recognises the value of nurturing a lifelong love of reading and believes that fun, welcoming library spaces will support this. The refurbished libraries aim to reflect the school’s ethos by encouraging reading for pleasure and inspiring more children to enjoy books.
Holi Celebrations
The PTA has been working to promote greater cultural diversity through activities involving the children. In March 2022 and 2024, several parent helpers and PTA members collaborated with all year groups to create vibrant chalk designs across the playgrounds. As shown in the photo above, the children produced beautiful artwork and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in this inclusive and creative experience.
We are always looking for new ideas and opportunities to reflect and celebrate the diverse backgrounds within our school community—and we warmly welcome parents to come forward, get involved, and help us bring these initiatives to life
